Adelaide L. Hammen, born on May 2, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland passed away at the age of 86 on March 18, 2026.

Adelaide was an incredible mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also made a name for herself as an amazing softball player with the Stars All-Stars Women's Softball Team, showcasing her competitive spirit and love for the game. She enjoyed playing poker, bowling, and busting out her moves on the dance floor with the jitterbug. She was a bank teller and later in life she was a ticket taker at Ripken Stadium. She also had a deep love for children and dogs.

Adelaide was predeceased by her late husband, John J. Hammen, Jr. She was a loving mother to her daughter, Gina Hammen and Gina's husband, Robert Sauer. She was also a doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by her sister, Anna Deck, her brother-in-law and sister-in law, Lou and Loretta Hammen, sister-in-law, Joann Dail and many nieces and nephews. Adelaide was predeceased by her late siblings, William Mosca, Laura Liptrapp, Mary Pickett, and Virginia Holmes.

A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Friday March 27, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM, with a funeral service starting at 8:00 PM. The following day, on Saturday March 28th, a funeral service will begin at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, 7401 German Hill Rd, Dundalk 21222.
