Anna Rose Hauer, passed away peacefully at her home on August 9, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on February 24, in Baltimore Maryland. She lived a life marked by resilience, independence, devotion to family, and a genuine zest for living.

Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John F. Helinski and Mary Helinski. She was the devoted mother of Mary Hauer, Micheal Hauer, and Michele Hauer-Williams. Loving wife to her husband, John Williams Jr. and the proud grandmother of Taryn Hauer, John Williams, Joshua Williams. Jordan Williams, Cameron Hauer, and Anthony Bridges Sr. As well as her faithful dog Axel. She was preceded in death by her sister, Adele Pazdzienski., and her former husband, William David Hauer and companion Edward Bridges.

Growing up in Fells Point, she developed the independent spirit that would remain with her throughout her life. As a young girl, she loved walking through the neighborhood and around Baltimore, often along her good friend Diana Wagner. She loved to dance, loved to talk, and seemed never to meet a stranger. She had a happy disposition, enjoyed being around people, and certainly didn't need a drink to have a good time.

She attended William S. Baer School, Holy Rosary School, and St. Micheals Business School. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she built a career with the State of Maryland Public Service Commission, retiring in 2007.

But her greatest commitment was always to her family. As a mother of three, she worked hard to make sure her children had opportunities in life. Education was especially important to her. She was determined that her children receive a private-school education and, when necessary, worked multiple jobs to help pay the tuition. She didn't simply tell her children about hard work and responsibility-She demonstrated those values every day.

She also believed there was more to life than work. She was the mother who made sure the family went places, took vacations, visited relative, and experienced life beyond their own neighborhood. Some of those family outings may not have seemed particularly important to her children at the time, but years later they became treasured memories and lessons about the importance of family and showing up for the people you love.

She was proud of her Polish heritage growing up on Bond Street in Fells Point. She continued the traditions she had learned from her own mother and kept them alive through holidays, food, family gatherings, and celebrations. Those traditions became part of what connected one generation of the family to the next.

Life presented her with her share of health challenges, beginning when she was young, but they never seemed to dampen her spirits or her enthusiasm for life. She was resilient and strong-willed-some might even say stubborn-but those qualities served her well throughout her 88 years.

In her later years, she successfully battled bladder cancer before dementia gradually began to take its toll. As her world became smaller and she required more assistance, her family was especially grateful that they were able to care for her in her own home. She remained surrounded by familiar things, family and her dog, Axel.

Being able to keep her at home until the end was a gift to her family as much as it was to her. After all the years she spent caring for her children and making sacrifices for them, those final years provided the opportunity to return some of that love and care to her.

Those who knew Anna Rose will remember a woman who was independent and determined, but also happy, funny, social, and full of life. She loved a good conversation, a good dance, her polish traditions, her family, and the simple pleasure of being around people.

After 88 years, she leaves behind something more lasting than possessions: the work ethic she demonstrated, the traditions she preserved, the opportunities she sacrificed to provide her children, and the countless memories created along the way.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that her struggles are over and that she can now rest, reunited with her mother, her sister, and the family and friends who went before her.

A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Tuesday August 18, 2026 from 3:00-7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday August 19 at 10:00 am. Followed by a graveside service at Holy Rosary Cemetery, 7305 German Hill Rd Dundalk, 21222.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever appreciated for the life she lived and the family she helped build.
