Audrey Krue

Dorothy Audrey Krue came into this world on February 18, 1933 as one of two daughters to Bernard Billing and Marguerite (Margaret) Schwartz Billing. Growing up in Highlandtown she became a graduate of Patterson Park High School in 1951. While there, "Auds" was a member of the Glee Club and had intentions "of pursuing a good job and eventually becoming a Mrs."

After high school Audrey sought a job with the Baltimore Gas and Electric Co., where she spent her entire working career of 50 years, working nearly every facet of operations from key punch, gas operations, to electric distribution. Even after retirement in 1992 she continued contractually.
Audrey married Robert Edward Krue and had one son, Michael, who worked for the Archdiocese of Baltimore and now 30 years with the Maryland State Police. The family enjoyed vacationing throughout the U. S. and Canada, from Maine to Miami to Yellowstone and Salt Lake City and all points in-between.
Audrey continued her education during this time, attending Baltimore Co. Community College, Notre Dame and finally achieving a Master of Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University on May 31, 1985.
She performed with the Sacred Heart of Mary folk group for many years. Hobbies over the years included ceramics, decoupage and square dancing with her husband. Audrey enjoyed attending the BSO and operas and was an avid fan of Washington Capitals ice hockey.
Robert and Audrey enjoyed taking vacations even after Robert suffered with cancer for some 30 years. While vacationing Robert had the idea to collect seashells and cover the house. The "shell house" as it is called was featured on TV and in the Dundalk Eagle.
After caring for Robert until his passing on October 15, 2004 she branched out to explore Europe and South America.
Right up to her passing Audrey enjoyed water aerobics and lunching with all her friends to the point one needed a secretary to keep up with her schedule.
To say Audrey loved cats is an understatement. While mom to many Apollo and Princess were her most beloved. She also supported North Shore Animal League. She wouldn't admit it but when Robert brought home a pup to have a home they glommed onto one another until cancer caused Little Squirt's demise.

The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Friday November 18th from 10:00am-11:30am with a service starting at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117.
