It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carol Ann Dobbins (nee Hampson), a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, on November 6, 2026, at the age of 90. Carol was born on June 6, 1936, in Canonsburg, PA, to the late Ernest and Ann Marie (nee Almasy) Hampson. She grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and her siblings, Patricia G. Hampson (Soren), Janyce Hampson, and her late brother, Ernest Hampson. She graduated from Sparrows Point High School.
Carol dedicated her life to her family. She was the cherished wife of her late husband, Tennyson E. Dobbins (affectionately known as Jeep), and the proud mother of three children: Valerie A. Roddy (Patrick), Tennyson E. Dobbins (Marianne), and David L. Dobbins. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren-Caitlyn A. Helson (Dan), Brenna K. Picarelli (Alex), Marissa Poole (Adam), Christopher Dobbins (Carly), Rachael Cunningham (Charles), and David Dobbins-and her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Riley, Charlie, Enzo, Myla, and Christopher.
A devout Catholic and lifelong parishioner of St. Luke's Church, Carol was an active member of the Ladies Sodality and lent her beautiful voice to the church choir. Carol loved to travel, especially with her beloved ministry to deeply spiritual sites in Europe. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Carol found joy in simple pleasures, including bowling and being a Cub Scout Leader, where she inspired many young minds with her warmth and kindness.
Carol is remembered for her loving spirit, her easy-going nature, and the deep affection she held for her family and friends. She touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and joy.
A public viewing will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, from 3:00 PM- 7:00 PM at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road. A Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Church, 1727 Lynch Road. Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul (vincentbaltimore.org) or Our Lady of Hope Church.
In honoring Carol's life, we invite all who knew her to join us in remembering her warmth and the love she shared so generously. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
