Dave Luther Young

Dave Luther Young passed away after a month long battle with COVID-19. He was born January 9, 1951. Dave was a 1969 graduate from Sparrows Point High School. He married Carol Young on June 6, 1970 in Baltimore. He worked as an electrician for many years. Dave lived his life to the fullest through the pleasure of attending numerous sporting events for his children, grandchildren, family members, and friends. He dedicated his life to supporting the athletes and children in the community. Dave was a strong supporter of the Sparrows Point Athletic Program.

Dave is survived by his sons, Kevin Luther Young and his spouse Yvonne Young and Michael Robert Young, his brother Jim Young and sister Kathy Gaither, he was "Pop" to 12 grandchildren, Blake Young, Brent Young, Becca Young, Mackenzie Young, Kali Young, Hadley Minor, Camden Young, Paytyn Jeunette, Brooke Giangrasso, Hunter Giangrasso, Dakota Young, and 3 great-grandchildren, Emma Genco, Aria Young, and Ezekiel Howard.

Family will receive visitors at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Friday, February 5th from 3:00-5:00 PM. The memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to support the Sparrows Point High School Athletic Booster Club. Donations in Dave's name can be made to Sparrows Point High School C/O Athletic Booster Club, 7400 North Point Road, Sparrows Point, MD 21219. 

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the fact that Dave Young will have many visitors, when you pay your respects on Friday to him and his family, please be mindful of other guests trying to do the same.  Masks and social distancing are required.
