George Tserkis

In honor and loving memory of George Vasilios Tserkis.

On August 20, 2023 George Vasilios Tserkis, 74, peacefully passed away. George was of Greek descent from the island of Karpathos, Greece. Son of Vasilios and Eugenia Tserkis. Born October 22, 1948.

George was raised on the island of Karpathos, Greece until the age of ten. He was later employed on the ships in Greece and traveled to many countries. George then immigrated to the United States in 1968, built his family life and became a successful entrepreneur. He ran a successful painting company as well as joining his brothers in the "American Dream." George was a strong individual who had a targeted mission to focus on his goals and bring his dreams to reality. He would always say look forward and NEVER GIVE UP! Believe in yourself and always be kind to others.

George's greatest and most successful accomplishment in his life was his family. He was a dedicated family man who worked every day alongside his beautiful wife Maria Tserkis to make sure that his children had a better future. He was a happy grandfather of four, Maria and Liam Mullins of Penny Tserkis and Maria and George Tserkis of Vasilios Tserkis.

Dear surviving brother John V. Tserkis; Dear surviving sisters Arhontoula Georgiou, Kalliopi Hourvardas, and Anna Mihalis; deceased brothers Nikolaos V. Tserkis, Pantelis V.Tserkis and Mike V. Tserkis.

George Vasilios Tserkis is survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Thursday from 3-9pm. A funeral service for George will be held on Friday 12 noon at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Interment following at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
