Glenn Leonard Koch

On February 16, 2024 Glenn L. Koch, 87 years of age, passed away peacefully with a family member by his side.

Glenn, an only child, was born on November 29, 1936 to George and Ruth Koch (nee Leonard) of Canton, Maryland. He graduated from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, went onto work for Powercon Corporation and retired from there after a long career as an electrical sales engineer. He was a life-long parishioner and volunteer at United Evangelica Church in Canton. As a youth he was an active member of the Baltimore Chapter of DeMolay International, the largest Masonic youth leadership organization. Like his father, he was also a member of Highland Lodge #184 of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Maryland. Glenn also volunteered for many years at the Maryland Science Center.

Glenn was a very kind, thoughtful, caring and giving person who always put others before himself. Although he was a quiet man, he would often make you laugh with his witty sense of humor. Glenn was a very selfless and devoted son who took care of his ailing parents until their deaths. Marrying late in life, he enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife, Darlene (nee Kunniecramer). Her passing two years ago left an unfillable hole in his heart.

In 2012, Glenn and Darlene married and moved to the Oak Crest retirement community in Parkville, Maryland. They enjoyed their time together there, volunteering and engaging in the many activities and functions that were offered. For the past seven years Glenn resided in Oak Crest's long term care facility where he had many friends and received excellent care.

Glenn is survived by his dear cousins, Diana Winkler, Marlene Baldwin and Nancy Ford. He was also a loving uncle and is survived by Kimberly Iwanowski (nee Smith), her husband Ken Iwanowski and their daughters Kaitlyn and Kayla. Pamela Fuchsluger (nee Smith), her husband Mark Fuchsluger and their children, Sierra, Olivia, and Mark Jr.

As we come together to celebrate Glenn's life and legacy, we invite friends and family to join us for the funeral services in honor of his memory. A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on February 23, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00- 8:00 pm with a Masonic service at 7:30 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Oak Crest Senior Living Chapel on February 24, 2024, at 10:00 am, with a public viewing preceding the service at 9:00 am.

Glenn's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but memories of him will continue to inspire and uplift us. Let us come together to honor his life and cherish the moments we shared with him. May he rest in peace.
