James S. Antkowiak

James Steve Antkowiak, age 67, of Baltimore, Maryland, left his earthly home peacefully and met his Lord face to face on August 18, 2021.  He was a devoted loving husband of forty-two years and the father to a precious daughter.  More than anything, he treasured time with his wife, daughter, and family.  His grandchildren were the “apple” of his eyes!  He cherished Dylan, Adrianna, and Bella and, it brought him much joy to watch them bloom into the young man and young ladies that they have become.

James loved the sun and places like Ocean City, MD, and Mexico were two of his happy places.  Because of James’ gentle spirit, people were naturally drawn to him, and he didn’t know a stranger – everyone was his friend.  James was an extremist and went over and beyond in everything he did.  When he set his mind to something, he didn’t allow anything to get in his way.  He was dedicated, hardworking, determined, and passionately served the Port of Baltimore for two-thirds of his life and loved every minute of it.  All who knew him well, knew that if he loved you, you were not exempt from his shenanigans.  In the end, James fought the good fight and triumphantly finished his race just the way he wanted to finish it.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Frank Antkowiak.  Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Thelma Antkowiak; daughter, Tiffany Antkowiak (Jason); three grandchildren, Dylan, Adrianna, and Bella; sister, Barbara Snyder (Wally); brother, Frank Antkowiak (Mary); and a host of nieces and nephews and many very special friends.  A celebration of life and visitation with family will be on Saturday 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME of DUNDALK 7110 Sollers Point Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday evening at 5:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment services will be PRIVATE for family convenience.

The family extends appreciation to family and friends for their comforting prayers, notes, and cards.  Sincere appreciation is also extended to a very special nurse for supportive and compassionate care as James journeyed forward in his last days of life on earth.
