It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim "Mudflap" Hinkle. Jim was born on December 5, 1956, in Morehead City, NC, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the age of 69.

A loyal family man, he dedicated himself to his wife, Susan, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. Susan was truly his everything.

Jim was the proud father of Shannon Jackson and her husband Doug Jackson and the cherished grandfather of Rylan Jackson. His daughter and granddaughter were the lights of his life, and he made sure they knew how much they were loved. Known for his larger-than-life personality and big heart, Jim had a knack for giving the best hugs that always made those around him feel special.

He also leaves behind his mother, Mildred Hinkle, along with his brother Douglas Hinkle and sisters Kelly DiMatteo and Angela Yuran. Each family member carries fond memories of Jim and his love for riding.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life with a public viewing that will be held at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Saturday February 28, 2026, from 2:00-6:00 PM.
