James "Dick" Roche, Sr.

James “Dick” Richard Roche Sr. was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He left this world surrounded by his family on July 18th 2023 at the “young age”(as he would say) of 87.

He was born to Thomas and Helen Roche in Baltimore, MD on March 23 1936. Dick was the youngest of four children. He was preceded in death by his siblings Betty Doran, Thomas Roche Jr. and Jack Roche. After school, Dick joined the army and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged and moved on to open his own business. For 23 years he owned a local bar in the heart of Highlandtown “where everyone knows your name “

Dick loved to spend time with his children. He enjoyed watching his westerns or Court tv shows, visiting Highlandtown every chance he could get and listening to Hillbilly music. He was one extraordinary man with a feisty personality and big heart.

Dick is survived by his six children, Tonia Roche, James Roche Jr, Dominic Roche, Joseph Roche and Deanna Beam, Tina Teufer and husband Brian and Michelle Roche, his grandchildren Angel, David, Sierra, James III, Brittany, Brett, Nicy, John, Nathan, Lailah, Mason, Orion and Paislee and his great granddaughter Hailey.

         Visitation with family will be on Friday 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME of  DUNDALK  7110 Sollers Point Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Father Kevin Mueller will preside.
