It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Cheslik Pierson, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Janet was born on August 20, 1940, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and she departed from this world on April 21, 2026, in Maryland.
She was a loving mother to her two sons, Bryan and his wife Jasmin Perry and Darryl Pierson. Janet found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, and her grandson Logan Pierson was a true source of pride and happiness in her life. She is also survived by her brother Larry Cheslik. In her passing, Janet joins her late husband, Reed Pierson Jr, late sister Hilda Erickson and her late parents Mathis Cheslik and Alvina Amelia Yerich, in eternal life.
Janet had a passion for gardening and home decorating. Her talents extended to baking, word games, Duck Pin bowling, and Bingo. A devoted participant in Bible study, Janet nurtured her spiritual life with unwavering faith.
Janet's adventurous spirit took her on memorable journeys, including a cross-country road trip and cruises to Bermuda and Hawaii. She enjoyed attending Masonic Order dances and events, celebrating life with those she loved, and cherishing deep connections with family and friends. One of the most precious memories she held dear was the birth of her grandson, a moment that brought her immeasurable joy.
To honor Janet's life, a public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Monday April 27, 2026, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue.
As we come together to celebrate Janet's remarkable life, we invite all who knew and loved her to join us in remembering her warmth, love, and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
