In Loving Memory of Joan Faye Keiter

A Life Celebrated: July 15, 1936 - December 14, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Faye Keiter, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Joan departed this life peacefully at her residence in Dundalk, MD.

Joan was born on July 15, 1936 in Cambridge, MD. She was the epitome of compassion, wisdom, and grace, leaving an indelible mark on the lives she touched. Joan embarked on an exceptional journey as a dedicated Registered Nurse, serving the Baltimore County Public Schools at Charlesmont Elementary School. With unwavering devotion, she cared for countless children, their families, and staff members, leaving an everlasting impact on the community she loved. And her phone was never far as she eagerly provided her loved ones with medical advice, always extending a listening ear and a comforting voice.

Outside of her professional life, Joan found solace and joy in the simplicity of nature's wonders. She had a deep appreciation for the vibrant beauty of flowers and the delicate presence of hummingbirds. Some of her fondest memories were spent sitting on her porch, embracing the gentle breeze, and reveling in the splendor of the world surrounding her.

Joan's love extended far and wide, leaving an indelible impact on her family. She was a beloved wife and steadfast companion to the late Kenneth Keiter, her devoted husband of 58 years. Together, they effortlessly journeyed through the highs and lows, offering unwavering support and boundless love to one another.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted children, Robin McFaul (and husband Bob Rodgers) and Roy Keiter (and wife Lore Keiter), who will forever hold her nurturing spirit within their hearts. Joan's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren Erika Raynor (husband Matthew), Shane McFaul, and Kayla Gugliotta (husband Dominic), who will forever carry her love and guidance with them. Her spirit lives on in her cherished great-grandchildren, Madilyn Raynor, Kolton Raynor, Lily Gugliotta, and Baby Raynor who will always be reminded of their remarkable great-grandmother's unwavering presence. Joan is also survived by her cherished friend and cousin, Betty Schultz, as well as her dear friend and neighbor Dorothy Suit.

As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we invite relatives and friends to join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Joan Faye Keiter. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A graveside service will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

May her spirit soar high above, forever embraced by the beauty of the hummingbirds she adored and the flowers that bloomed in her presence.

Forever in our hearts, Joan's legacy will endure.

"Like a hummingbird, she brought beauty and grace to the world,

And now she takes flight, leaving memories that will never fade.

Her gentle presence will forever be missed,

But her love and wisdom will forever remain."
