John "Yianni" S. Liadakis

John 'Yianni' S. Liadakis, 36, of Canton, Baltimore passed away on Saturday November 26, 2022, at Johns Hopkins Bayview surrounded by family and friends. He was born on August 7, 1986 in Baltimore, MD and grew up in Greektown as part of the Greek community. Yianni attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School where he played soccer. He graduated in 2004 and then went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree in Business from York College of Pennsylvania in 2010. After graduation, Yianni was a beloved employee at the Columbia, MD based software company Tenable.

Yianni battled with Progressive MS (Multiple Sclerosis) since a diagnosis in 2010. He organized fundraising events with the MS Society. He raised over $200K to participate in an innovative stem cell treatment therapy in Tel Aviv, Israel in 2015. Yianni fought fiercely against MS, always participating in clinical trials and constantly employing holistic methods to battle the disease.

Yianni is survived by his parents George and Eleni Liadakis (Chios, Greece), his sister Maria Liadakis (Luke) in Baltimore, MD, his uncle Antonio Liadakis (Chios, Greece) and his paternal grandfather and step-grandmother Yianni and Pari Liadakis (Amades, Chios, Greece). He is survived by his very supportive extended family in Baltimore, MD, his aunt Voula Liadakis and his cousins, Dan Harrison (Stephanie), Irene Khaksari (Amir) and Emily Fekos (Chris). Yianni is also survived by a very loving network of friends in MD, NJ, DE, and NY, who were actively involved in his care. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in America and Chios, Greece.

The family is currently planning a Celebration of Life in early 2023.
