Lucille Augusta Metzger

    Lucille Augusta Metzger, 86, was a long time resident of Dundalk for 40 years, and resident of Millers Island for 26 years. God took her to his heavenly home on Monday, January 31, 2022. Born October 9, 1935 in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late James and Augusta Lachman. Besides her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Joseph A. Metzger.   

    Lucille’s greatest pleasure was her time with her family. She loved Bingo and earned her title of “Lucky Lucy”, loved bowling and time at the beach and loved eating crabs with the family.

    In addition to raising 6 children, Lucille worked at General Motors/EDS for 30 years as a Computer Operator. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary Post 2678.

    She is survived by her beloved sister, Patricia Schroeder. Her loving children, Mary Jo and husband Eugene Lester, Sr., and son David and wife Terri Metzger, son Gary and late wife Michaeleen Metzger, daughter Janice and husband Theodore Ziolkowski, daughter Joanna and husband Leonard Lubinski and daughter Christina and husband Stephen Steinert.

    She loved all her grandchildren, Michele Lester and Eugene Lester, Jr., Laura Kirkland and husband Justin, Michael Metzger and wife Nicole, Victoria Ziolkowski and fiancé Daniel Wesselhoff, Theodore Ziolkowski and Raquel Ziolkowski, Jessica Evans and wife Amanda, Jonathan Ward, Brianna and Stevanna Lubinski, Adrianna Lubinski and fiancé Michael Linkous and Mathew Steinert and girlfriend Kylee Snodgrass, Jillian Steinert and boyfriend Paul Vanbeber, and Andrew Steinert.

    She loved all her great grandchildren Nathan, Kyra, Noah, Autumn, Elaina, Ella, Kaelynne, Aiden, Journey, Jonathan, Isabelle, Ava, Addison, and Yaretzi.

    Viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2-6pm. Funeral Services Mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church on Monday, February 7, at 10AM. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery.
