Mary Catherine Laskey

Mary Laskey passed away peacefully at her lifelong home on Bunny Lane on November 30th, 2022. Mary was pre-deceased by her husband John, parents Pasquale and Minnie Bruno, brother Pat Bruno, and nephew Jeff Laskey. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Linda Laskey, Susan Keller (Dave), and Lisa Calabrese (Frank). She adored her 5 grandchildren, John (Meghan), Frank Jr., Chris Calabrese (Megan), Caitlin Smith (Billy) and Allison Yates (Andy). She was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, Frankie Rose, Lucy, Penelope, Juliet, Olive, and Liam. Mary was also the loving sister of Joseph Bruno, proud aunt of Duane (Christine) and Joey (Karen) Bruno, Janet Tutin (Ken) and Jim Laskey (Toni). Mary lived a simple life yet gave big. Generosity, caring for others, loving her family, and her commitment to work were her guiding principles. She was devoted to her husband John for 60 years and together they lovingly raised 3 daughters. Their joy multiplied with the blessings of 5 wonderful grandchildren and 6 beautiful great-grandchildren; all who adored and greatly respected her.

The purpose and passion of Mary’s life was to continue her father’s legacy of Midway Lumber Company. Alongside her brother Joe, she took pride in her work at Midway for over 75 years. She continued to work until she was 93 years old and deeply regretted her inability to continue her work due to illness in her final year. Midway Lumber, her family and those she adopted as family,(and there were many), were her heart until her final breath. Mary may be gone, but her values will forever be imprinted on the souls of her loved ones.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Sunday, December 11th from 2:00pm-5:00pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at St Luke's Church, Edgemere on Monday, Dec 12th at 10am.
