Mary "Marlene" Peters

Marlene Peters (nee Mary E. Veystrk) was born in Baltimore in 1934 and passed away on May 24, 2021 at the age of 86 from pancreatic cancer.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clayton Peters, after 58 years of marriage.  She was also predeceased by her parents, Martin and Frances Veystrk, and her dear sister, Helen Martino.  The focus of Marlene’s life was her family, whose well being was of utmost importance to her.  She cared for her mother and mother-in-law in their later years and provided counsel and support to those in the younger generations of the family.  She was a trusted confidante to family and friends who described her as a good and non judgmental listener.  Her life was well lived and her absence will be felt by many.  She is survived by her cherished sisters, Deborah Veystrk and Camille Connelly; nieces Joanne Lewis and her husband, Gino, Donna Turbutt, Jennifer Peters, Rachel Peters and Kathy Osborne; nephews Thomas Burns and his wife Cathy, Christopher Burns, Michael Burns, Patrick Burns, Thomas Connelly and his wife Kati, Christopher Connelly, Ric Peters and numerous great nieces and nephews and their children.

Family will receive visitors at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. A funeral service celebrating Marlene's life will be held on Thursday at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions in the name of Mary Peters can be made to the Gilchrist Home Hospice Program.
