Melvin Warren Brown Jr.

Born to Margaret Montgomery Brown and Melvin Warren Brown, Sr., both parents predeceased him.

The oldest son of three.  Mel is survived by his brother, Robert Lewis Brown, and sister, Margie Jones, both of Westminster, and sister-in-law, Sharon Barton of Dundalk, and sister-in-laws, Dr. Sarah Barton Samoluk, and Janine Thibodeau of Nova Scotia, Canada.   He is predeceased by his sister-in-law, Linda Kimmich.

Mel is survived by his wife, Susan Barton Brown, and their 5 children and spouses, Michael & Erina Brown, Cathy Shelton, Jessica & Justin Chambers, Stephen & Tiffany Hagel and Kevin & Danielle Hagel.   They have six grandchildren, Ashley Hudnell, Jason Brown, Evan Brown, Andrew Shelton, Freya Hagel and Zelda Hagel.  He is also survived by nephew Jeremy Strassman, and his children, and a niece and her husband, Sara & Justin GIvens, and their children.

Mel is a retired Air Force Staff Sergeant, having served in the Vietnam War.    He has worked over 40 years as Facilities Manager for The Belt’s Corporation, where he met his wife, and they worked side by side for over 25 years.  Mel and his wife enjoyed many years of cruising, and traveling.   Mel especially enjoyed fishing and gardening. 

The Family will recieve friends at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. on Wednesday from 3:00pm to 5:30pm. A funeral service for Mel will be held Wednesday at 5:30pm. An internment for Mel will be held at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
