It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Lewis Shaw, Sr., who left us peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on June 19, 1970, in Newark, New Jersey, Paul was the beloved son of Charles Shaw and Rubie Shaw. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Shaw; his paternal grandparents, Lucille Shaw and Earl Shaw; and his maternal grandparents, Julia Singleton and Booker Singleton. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Rubie Shaw.

Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Roxann Shaw, and their children: Paul Shaw Jr., Abdul Ellis, Anthea Shaw, Michael Gunther (wife Tiana) Victoria Sanford (husband Greg), Jarod Gunther, and Lisa Hamwright (husband Lamont). He was a proud grandfather to 17 grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his life. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters, LaVonne Williams (husband Stanley), Waheedah Collins (husband Reynardo), and Syreeta Wright (husband Bobby); and a host of extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and love.

We invite everyone who knew and loved Paul to celebrate his life with us. A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 3:45 p.m., followed by a Time of Sharing from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Paul's life. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed through social media, allowing loved ones near and far to join in honoring his memory.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., where Paul will be laid to rest.
