It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald "Ronnie" James Surratt Jr., who left us on April 12, 2026, at the age of 44. He was born on December 19, 1981, to his loving parents Ron Surratt "PR" and Sheila Surratt, who will miss him tremendously.

Ronnie was a cherished son, a devoted father, a beloved brother and an amazing friend. He was known for his unwavering kindness and an infectious smile that could light up a room.

Ronnie was passionate about many things, but nothing compared to his deep love for his son, Elijah James. He was an exceptional father who devoted himself wholeheartedly to ensuring that Elijah felt his love and support. The bond they shared was truly special, and Ronnie's love for his son was evident in every moment they spent together.

Ronnie also leaves behind his cherished sister, Kasey Andrews and her husband Gregory Andrews as well as his adored nieces, Scarlett and Penelope.

A member of Central Christian Church, Ronnie's faith was a cornerstone of his life. He found strength and comfort in his relationship with God.

An athlete at heart, Ronnie played soccer throughout his life and maintained his fitness by dedicating time to the gym five days a week. He was a graduate of Patapsco High School and furthered his education at Masters Commission in Austin, Texas, where he spent three years.

Ronnie proudly served as a police officer for 15 years in both Baltimore City and County, a testament to his unwavering commitment to keeping his community safe. Following his law enforcement career, he fulfilled his passion for mechanics as an installer for BGE. This year, he was honored with a safety award for bravely extinguishing a fire that could have been catastrophic to his crew and the surrounding area-a reflection of his courageous spirit and dedication.

Ronnie was known for his generosity, thoughtfulness, and hard work. His outgoing personality and charismatic nature drew people to him, and he made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a kind soul, always ready to lend a hand or offer a word of encouragement.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ronnie's life during public viewings at Central Christian Church, 7411 Rossville Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21237 on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM. A funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00 AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to support his son, Elijah's, future education.
