Sara Elizabeth Blankenship

Sara Elizabeth Blankenship, a retired office clerk from Pantry Pride of 30 years, passed away on December 12, 2020 at the age of 86 from covid-19. Known as "Elizabeth" by her family and friends she was born in Coalwood, West Virginia on March 13, 1934. She was married to William Earl Blankenship for 45 years before his passing in 1994.

Mom and Dad moved to Baltimore in 1951 and lived there before moving to Dundalk in 1956. They moved to Floyd, Virginia after retiring in 1989. Mom then moved back to Dundalk where she lived with her daughter Gail and son-in-law Charlie Maykrantz for the past 22 years. After moving back to Dundalk she worked for 10 years at Hunt Valley Motor Coach as a tour guide. She traveled across The United States and Canada.

Mom enjoyed reading, baking, cooking and working outside with flowers. Most of all she enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren on vacation, along with our Dad at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Disney World in Orlando, Florida. As a Christian and member of The Baptist Church of Floyd, her and my Dad were very active members. She was a wonderful loving and giving Mom with a heart of gold to her children, grandchildren and friends.

Mom is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Gail & Charlie Maykrantz, son William Brant Blankenship, daughter and son-in-law Sharon & Dave Bland, and son and daughter-in-law Chris & Donna Blankenship. Also 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and her sister Charlene Blankenship.

We were blessed to have had such a wonderful mom that was loved by her family and friends. She will be remembered in our hearts forever. We love you mom.
