Shirley Helen Hewitt

Shirley Helen Hewitt, born on August 30, 1946, passed away on September 28, 2024, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and community service. She dedicated an impressive 40 years to her career at W.R. Grace where her commitment and hard work earned her the respect of her colleagues and peers.

Shirley was not just defined by her professional achievements. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society,  Friends Under The Hat Club, and the Zentangle Club - F.U.T.H., where she formed cherished friendships and made lasting memories. Her involvement in these groups reflected her vibrant spirit and love for social engagement, bringing joy not only to her life but also to those around her.

A devout member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Shirley participated in various church activities and was a valued member of the church sodality. Her faith and community involvement showcased her deep-rooted values and dedication to helping others.

Shirley had a boundless love for her family, particularly her cousin Janet Aro and her nieces and nephews, including Michelle Bramucci. Her family brought her immense joy, and she was known for her warm and caring nature. Her late parents, Thomas and Margaret Hewitt, provided her with a strong foundation that she carried throughout her life.

In addition to the many clubs and activities she enjoyed, Shirley had a fondness for her cat, Jasper, and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. She loved spending time playing Bingo and visiting the slots, relishing in the thrill of the game and the companionship it brought.

Visitation will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, located at 7110 Sollers Point Rd, Dundalk, MD 21222, on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Mary Church, located at 6736 Youngstown Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21222, followed by a graveside service at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224.

Shirley Helen Hewitt will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know her. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her loving family and friends, as they remember her for her kindness, laughter, and unwavering support.
