Shirley Jean Schilling, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on April 18, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland, Shirley spent her life cherishing her family and the beauty of the world around her.
Shirley was a dedicated homemaker and was known for her world's best lemon meringue pie. She was a huge sports fan, passionately cheering for the Ravens, Orioles, and Baltimore Colts. When she wasn't rooting for her favorite teams, you could find her tending to her lawn and garden, always making sure her flowers were in full bloom. She also had a special knack for sending greeting cards for every occasion, ensuring that her loved ones felt cherished.
Shirley was the loving wife of the late Frank C. Schilling Sr. and proud mother to her children: Franklin Schilling Jr. (wife Dana), Susan McCormick (husband Mike), and her late son, Michael Schilling. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Lisa Schilling, eight cherished grandchildren, and six adored great-grandchildren, all of whom will deeply miss her warmth and nurturing spirit.
In honor of Shirley's life, a public viewing will take place at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Wednesday August 19, 2026, from 3:00-7:00 pm. Her funeral service will follow the next day on, Thursday August 20, at 11:00 am, also at Connelly Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Ave, Baltimore 21224, where she will be laid to rest.
Shirley's love for her family and her joyful spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society
