Stephen Hughes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stephen E. Hughes Sr., a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this life on January 8, 2025, just six weeks after celebrating his 98th birthday. Stephen, a longtime resident of Dundalk, Maryland, had relocated to Texas with his daughter.

Stephen is lovingly remembered by his three children: Stephen Jr., Frederick, and Kathy (Madden). He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren- Kimberly Hock, Frederick Jr., Stephen III, Bryan, Nicholas Madden, Bethany Madden, and Samuel Madden-and a cherished great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren. His beloved wife, Fredericka Hughes, preceded him in death, and he now joins her in eternal rest.

Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Stephen's life. A public viewing will be held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a graveside service at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
