It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vasilios Minas Dargakis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world and has ascended to our God's Heavenly Paradise on May 19, 2026, at the age of 87. He was born on January 14, 1939, in Olympos-Karpathos, Greece.
Vasilios and his beloved late wife, Magafoula Dargakis, built a strong family foundation rooted in faith, strength, and devotion that will continue through generations. Together, they raised their three children: Maria Vasiliadis, Popi Paragios (husband Ioannis) and Minas Dargakis (wife Kleopatra). He was a proud grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Theodore, Anastasia, Foula, Eliana, Vasilios, Theodosia, and Christina, who will carry forward his spirit. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Foula, and fond memories of his late brother, Ioannis.
Friends and family are invited to honor and celebrate Vasilios's life at a public viewing at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 520 Ponca Street, Baltimore, MD 21224 on Thursday May 21, 2026, from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM. A service celebrating his life will follow at 12:30 PM. After the service, a graveside interment will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery, 7225 Eastern Avenue.
