Warren Newland

Warren Newland, Jr., of Perry Hall, MD, died on May 9, 2024 at the age of 78. He was a lifelong resident of Baltimore, born in Baltimore City in 1945 to Warren and Elizabeth Newland. He graduated from City College, having already begun what would be a 45-year employment with H&S Bakery in Fell's Point, where his father worked. He married the daughter of the owner of Ann's Tavern, across the street from the bakery, where they then lived with their family. After selling the bar in 1979, they moved to Perry Hall where he resided until his passing.

His hobbies included sitting in the sun, befriending clerks at the shops he frequented and most importantly, listening to music. He was a lifelong Elvis fan. His home was the family's gathering spot for years, until the untimely passing of his wife Doris from cancer in 2003.

He is survived by his children, Karen (Mark) Dojan of Parkville, MD and Warren (Emily) Newland III of Brooklyn, NY, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his two sisters Elizabeth and Juanita, and his beloved wife Doris.

Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Dundalk, MD at 11:00am on May 13.
