William "Bill" E. Scott, Jr.

William "Bill" Scott Jr, age 80, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024 at the Senator Bob Hooper House after a long and courageous fight against cancer.

Bill was born March 1, 1944 in Charlotte, North Carolina, later moving to Jacksonville, North Carolina where he grew up visiting the nearby beautiful Crystal Coast beaches he loved so much. As a young man he attended Wake Forest University and eventually moved to Washington DC where he met his late wife, Carmen and started a family.

Working for many years in the car business and then in Addictions Recovery until his retirement, he touched many lives, and helped many struggling in dark times. Apart from work, he enjoyed playing golf, watching professional baseball and football and college basketball, relaxing and fishing at the beach, and when the grandchildren arrived; spending time with them as 'Pop Pop' was by far his greatest joy. He continued to be young at heart with a fierce determination as he fought against cancer for nearly 8 years.

Bill is survived by his three children, his eldest son; Bradley Scott and his wife Meagan and their daughters, Olivia and Elena, his daughter; Elizabeth (Beth) Andrews and her husband Brian and their children, Brody and Blair, and his youngest son; Adam Scott, as well as his younger sister; Trudy Clark. Bill was predeceased by his late wife, Carmen, and by his parents, the late William Scott Sr and Violet Scott (McGinnis). He will be forever loved and missed by his family and all those dear to him.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the CONNELLY FUNERAL HOME OF DUNDALK, 7110 Sollers Point Road. A Memorial service to celebrate William's life will follow at 3:00 PM. Minister Matthew Spears will officiate.

The family requests donations be made in Bill's name to The Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House through UM Upper Chesapeake Health.
