Wilson "Wil" Sidelinker, born July 28, 1943, passed away on February 12, 2026 following several bouts of pneumonia. He was surrounded by the love and gratitude of those whose lives he touched. Wil was 82.
Wil is survived by his wife, Denise; his daughter, Amanda (Scott); his sons, Dennis (Laurie) and David (Anne); his sister, Veronica "Ronnie"; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, with a third on the way; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Diane; his parents, Wilson and Grace (Apigian) Sidelinker; and his brother, Leslie "Les" Sidelinker.
Wil was a member of the class of 1961 at North Reading High School (MA) and attended Northeastern University (Boston, MA). He served honorably in the US Army as an intelligence officer for 23 years, with duty stations in Germany and Panama and eventually retiring as a US Army Chief Warrant Officer Four in 1991. Following his military service, he built a long career as a supervisor in waste management working at various Maryland locations with Allied Waste. Known for his reliability, problem-solving, and work ethic, he took great care in doing essential work that supported his community.
Wil loved animals and shared his home with many cherished pet dogs, cats and ferrets throughout his life. In Wil's later years, he showered 'Bob', his most recent canine companion, with special treats throughout the day and enjoyed the company of his beloved kitties.
Wil will be remembered for his devotion to family and for his compassion and kindness. He gave freely of his time and attention. His words of encouragement and love, given both in in-person chats and also in written form in sweet paragraphs on special occasion cards, are cherished by his loved ones. Wil was always ready to help, sharing his skills to assist in fixing something that was broken and showing up when it mattered most.
Wil is held closely in the hearts of family, friends, neighbors, and those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during public viewings held at Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Road, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, from 1-3 PM and 5-7 PM.
